Ubuntu Partnership

Empowerment through partnership

Ubuntu is an ancient African word meaning ‘humanity to others’ –  ‘I am what I am because of who we all are’.

In 2019 Resurrection Parish Kings Park, and “Our Lady of Fatima” Catholic Parish in Buyaga, Uganda, entered a partnership based on the principles of Ubuntu.

The primary focus has been on the education of children through sponsorship.

To date 285 children have been given the opportunity of education which they would not have otherwise received.  With sponsorships starting as little as $10 per month, we ensure that each child receives access to education, a safe shelter, and food.

Beyond individual support, we are proud to have contributed to the future of the community by helping build a school, providing a foundation for countless children to learn and grow. Together, we are creating a brighter future, one child at a time.

Some of the other areas of support are:

  • Enabling infrastructure projects to improve sustenance for families through local farming, animal husbandry, and construction of basic facilities
  • Providing educational support to both primary and secondary school children and training for teachers
  • Empowering women and girls to build income generating skills, improve the conditions of their households and enable career growth
  • Enabling the provision of necessities such as wholesome food, clean water, clothing, shelter.
